We’re proud to announce that AnswerForce has now hit an incredible milestone in our Giving Back mission: We’ve donated over two million meals to food banks across the United States in the past three years.
To our clients, we want to say thank you. We simply would not have hit this milestone without you.
At a time when we think about what we’re grateful for, it’s a sad fact that many people won’t be enjoying a table full of food for Thanksgiving. As of January 2023, 44 million people in the United States are food insecure (Feeding America), including 13 million children.
Two million meals might feel like a drop in the ocean. But these meals still represent an important milestone in the fight against hunger, one we are so thankful to have reached.
The road to 2 million meals
The fight against hunger Giving Back Back initiative began back in April 2020. With the country in quarantine and millions of citizens out of work, we looked at areas where our Giving Back could make the most impact. Our customers are business owners and general managers deeply embedded within their communities. From speaking to them, it soon became apparent that food insecurity was a major issue facing people. After contacting several food charities, we decided to begin a monthly donation program in which we donated 1% to registered food banks.
By the end of 2020, the Giving Back program had donated 190,000 meals to 19 food banks across 14 States. These donations were an important start, but they were just the beginning.
In 2021, as AnswerForce grew, we were able to increase donations. Our goal became to have donation partners across the country. By the end of the year, we’d donated a staggering 605,078 meals across all 50 States.
It was in May 2022 that we reached the 1 million meal milestone.
When we started this Giving Back initiative, we thought it would be a temporary pandemic-era program. But the more we learned from partners like United Food Bank in Arizona, Utah Food Bank, and others, the more we wanted to continue supporting the incredible work of these organizations.
Along with our monthly Giving Back donations, we’ve had the privilege of working with incredible partners to provide food and resource support in the wake of disasters.
Storms, hurricanes, and fires have devastated regions over the last few years, with fresh water and food being in immediate short supply. From Hurricanes Ida and Ian to the wildfires on Maui, it’s a privilege to be in a position to play a small part in supporting affected communities.
This milestone would not be possible without you, our amazing customers. Everyone on Team AnswerForce is grateful for your support. Thank you.
